DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>WORKSHOP</strong></p><p>The new IASSA Working Group “Gender in t
 he Arctic” got some funding from IASC for doing a workshop this year.<br />
  <br />This will take place as a side event of the UArctic Congress in Sept
 ember 2018 in Oulu/Finland. (The conference from 3-7th of September will be
  held in Oulu and in Helsinki (Helsinki is on the last day).<br /> <br />Th
 e theme and call for papers for this GiA side event will be out early 2018 
 and will focus around eg. women, masculinity and queer studies/cases in the
  Arctic etc. GiA understands gender as a intersectional category in particu
 lar including the indigenous dimensions.<br /> <br />Funding will be alloca
 ted to people who have no institutional back up such as gender activists an
