DESCRIPTION:A two-day workshop for young researchers organised by the PYRN (Permafrost 
 Young Researchers Network) will take place in Chamonix June 23-24, 2018. Th
 e workshop will include 1 day of local excursion.\nAll participants to the 
 workshop will be invited to join us as early as June 22nd for a welcoming B
 BQ hosted at the Chamonix Youth Hostel. Solutions for cheap accommodations 
 will be offered by the Chamonix Youth Hostel.\nThe workshop program is as f
 ollows:\nFriday, June 22nd 2018: Welcoming ice-breaker for PYRN participant
 s\nSaturday June, 23rd 2018: Introduction to PYRN activities by the PYRN Ex
 Com, plenary lectures and breakout sessions lead by outstanding senior and 
 junior scientists covering major permafrost topics, career planning, resear
 ch perspectives, and soft-skills development.\nSunday June, 24th 2018: Loca
 l excursion lead by outstanding local researchers and land-planners to lear
 n about environmental settings and land-planning issues in the Mont Blanc m
