DESCRIPTION:The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee () and the Study of Enviro

 referrer">SEARCH</a>) announce an open meeting that will convene from 12:30
 -1:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, 14 December during the 2017 American Geophysica
 l Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.\nIARPC and SEARCH rec
 ognize the importance of science that is actionable by stakeholders. This t
 own hall will share their evolving approaches and engage the community in d
 iscussions of effective practices and new approaches. Examples of Arctic re
 search addressing stakeholder needs will serve as test cases to examine: ho
 w needs are identified; how questions are appropriately framed to meet stak
 eholder needs; and what promotes and constrains research addressing those n
 eeds. The executive directors of SEARCH and IARPC will moderate discussion 
 among SEARCH and IARPC teams and Town Hall participants.\nDiscussion questi
 ons will include:\n\n - IARPC and SEARCH focus on different stakeholder aud
 iences and what audiences are left out?\n - Who is and who should be target
 ing those other audiences?\n - How might related efforts to engage stakehol
 ders amplify - or be amplified by - the efforts of IARPC and SEARCH?\n - Wh
