DESCRIPTION:<p>The <strong>Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee</strong> (<a hr

  <strong>Study of Environmental Arctic Change</strong> (<a href="https://ww
 w.arcus.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=6038&amp;qid=672334"
  target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SEARCH</a>) announce an open mee
 ting that will convene from 1<strong>2:30-1:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, 14 Dec
 ember</strong> during the 2017 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meetin
 g in New Orleans, Louisiana.</p><p>IARPC and SEARCH recognize the importanc
 e of science that is actionable by stakeholders. This town hall will share 
 their evolving approaches and engage the community in discussions of effect
 ive practices and new approaches. Examples of Arctic research addressing st
 akeholder needs will serve as test cases to examine: how needs are identifi
 ed; how questions are appropriately framed to meet stakeholder needs; and w
 hat promotes and constrains research addressing those needs. The executive 
 directors of SEARCH and IARPC will moderate discussion among SEARCH and IAR
 PC teams and Town Hall participants.</p><p><strong>Discussion questions wil
 l include:</strong></p><ul><li>IARPC and SEARCH focus on different stakehol
 der audiences and what audiences are left out?</li><li>Who is and who shoul
 d be targeting those other audiences?</li><li>How might related efforts to 
 engage stakeholders amplify - or be amplified by - the efforts of IARPC and
  SEARCH?</li><li>What are effective approaches for communicating with diver
