DESCRIPTION:<p>Organizers announce a call for registration for the 7th Biennial Symposi
 um on the Impacts of an Ice-Diminishing Arctic on Naval and Maritime. This 
 symposium will bring together nationally and internationally-recognized exp
 erts on Arctic marine operations, environments, science, policy, law, and g
 overnance. It will include speakers from the Alaska Congressional Delegatio
 n, NOAA, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Arctic Research Comm
 ission (USARC), and other representatives from the U.S., Arctic nations, an
 d the international community. The symposium will be available in-person in
  Washington, D.C. and as an online webcast.</p><p>Registration is complimen
 tary, but required to participate in the live symposium or the live-streame
 d webinar.</p><p>The symposium talks will cover three general topic areas, 
 including:</p><ul><li>Latest research on observed and predicted changes in 
 the Arctic sea ice environment,</li><li>Present and future impact of these 
 changes on Arctic operations, and</li><li>Emerging Arctic policy issues on 
 national and international levels.</li></ul><p>This event offers an opportu
 nity to meet, interact, and share insights about the impact of an ice-dimin
 ishing Arctic Ocean on marine transportation; resource development; oceanog
 raphic research; federal, state, local, and international operations; polic
 y implications; and other issues in the rapidly evolving Arctic region.</p>
