We call for papers that addr ess the following question from a youth perspective:\n\nHow to promote and ensure justice as well as social and environmental sustainability in the de ployment of economic activities in the Arctic?\n\nPapers should be clearly focused on one particular thematic that can include the following:\n\n - Th e current and potential place, role and impact of youth participation in Ar ctic decision-making processes\n - The relations between gender and sustain ability issues\n - The question of intergenerational justice in the context of Arctic development\n - The interplay between Indigenous peoples, Arctic development and Arctic sustainability\n - Any of the economic sectors anal ysed by JUSTNORTH: transport (private and/or public; road, railway, maritim e); energy (renewable and non-renewable); tourism; resources extraction (mi ning, oil, gas); fisheries; social development; traditional economies and l ivelihoods.On the day of the event, selected participants will be given 5-1 0 minutes to present their initial ideas and/or draft. These presentations will be followed by discussion and by a workshop in which participants will have the opportunity to work with leading researchers from the JUSTNORTH t eam to develop and polish their papers.
