SUMMARY:PhD course on applied use of drones/UAVs in biogeosciences, focusing on Temperate and Arctic regions
LOCATION:University of Copenhagen\, Denmark
DESCRIPTION:
We have open seats on our new PhD-course entitled “Application o
f UAV Data in Temperate and Arctic Environmental Research”. The co
urse is free for students and will be held at University of Copenhagen, Den
mark, April 3-7, 2017. It is designed to fit students with an insight in GI
S and remote sensing. Prior experience with UAVs is not a prerequisite. We
will mix theory and hands-on, and focus on UAV platforms and lightweight op
tical/thermal/climate sensors, sensor calibration and ground truthing, surv
ey planning, post-processing to orthomosaics and 3D surface models, classif
ications (including texture/object-based), coupling to satellite data, and
analysis of the end results in a biogeo-context.

Lect
