DESCRIPTION:<p>Please save space in your diary for an online workshop on ice-ocean inte
 ractions <strong>17<sup>th</sup>-21<sup>st</sup> October 2022</strong>.The 
 workshop is being organised by the recently formed Joint IAPSO/IACS Commiss
 ion on Ice-Ocean Interactions (JCIOI), and aims to draw together researcher
 s interested in the processes that govern ocean-driven melt of glaciers and
  ice sheets, across a range of locations and timescales. Proposed session t
 opics include:</p><ul><li>The physics of the ice-ocean boundary</li><li>The
  role of glacial melt in the wider ocean</li><li>The impact of ocean-driven
  melt on glacier and ice sheet mass balance</li><li>New and emerging techno
 logies for studying ice-ocean interaction</li></ul><p>The workshop will be 
 entirely online, with a mixture of presentations and breakout sessions sche
 duled asynchronously to facilitate interactions across time zones. A full s
 chedule will be circulated later.</p><p>We hope that this meeting will be a
 n opportunity to draw together the community, sharing knowledge across diff
 erent research areas, and identifying critical knowledge gaps. It is also a
 n opportunity to share upcoming research plans, and create synergies across
