DESCRIPTION:The Oxford University Polar Forum is pleased to announce the Arctic Horizon
Scan 2022. What is it? A global call to identify Arctic research prioriti
es for the next decade. Rationale: The urgency of Arctic change demands tha
t researchers look ahead, share perspectives across disciplinary divides, a
nd understand how they can meet the needs of the future. Online Survey (la
unch: 21st Feb): We are inviting researchers of all disciplines, people fro
m local and Indigenous Arctic communities, policymakers, funders of researc
h, and all other stakeholders, to contribute towards the Horizon Scan by pa
rticipating in this secure online survey (https://oxford.onlinesurveys.ac.u
k/arctic-horizon-scan-2022), which asks participants to describe one or mor
e topics that they consider to be priorities for Arctic research in the nex
t decade. We welcome submissions about any topic, large-scale and local, na

r 7-9th September 2022, delegates to the hybrid Arctic Horizon Scan 2022 Wo
rkshop will discuss and determine research priorities for the Arctic that w
ill be important over the next decade. The diverse range of expertise and p
erspectives offered by delegates will help shape the Arctic research agenda
, and ensure that research can meet the needs of the future.\nDelegates wil
l be able to attend in-person or online. The workshop will be based at the
Oxford University Museum of Natural History, and optional accommodation has
been reserved for in-person delegates at St Peter’s College, where there w
ill be a workshop dinner on 8th Sep. All delegates will contribute to the p
ublication of a peer-reviewed article outlining research priorities for the
Arctic. Funds are available to support Indigenous delegates to attend. Ple

n in the Horizon Scan, we hope that new cross-disciplinary connections will
be made, and that different forms of knowledge (e.g. scientific and tradit
