rgency of Arctic change demands that researchers look ahead, share perspect
ives across disciplinary divides, and understand how they can meet the need
s of the future.

div style="text-align: justify;">Online Survey (launch: 21st Feb):
We are inviting researchers of all disciplines, people from local
and Indigenous Arctic communities, policymakers, funders of research, and a
ll other stakeholders, to contribute towards the Horizon Scan by participating in this secure online survey, which asks
participants to describe one or more topics that they consider to be priori
ties for Arctic research in the next decade. We welcome submissions about a
ny topic, large-scale and local, natural and social. Please see our webpage

Oxford workshop (7-9th Sep):
Over 7-9th September 2022, delegates to the hybrid Arctic Horizon Scan
2022 Workshop will discuss and determine research priorities for the Arctic
that will be important over the next decade. The diverse range of expertis
e and perspectives offered by delegates will help shape the Arctic research
agenda, and ensure that research can meet the needs of the future.
Delegates will be able to attend in-person or online. The workshop will be
based at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, and optional acc
ommodation has been reserved for in-person delegates at St Peter’s College,
where there will be a workshop dinner on 8th Sep. All delegates will contr
ibute to the publication of a peer-reviewed article outlining research prio
rities for the Arctic. Funds are available to support Indigenous delegates
to attend.
Please register for in-person attendance by 27th July, and online atte
ndance no later than 20th August.
Outcomes
: The Horizon Scan will build towards a peer-reviewed report summa
rising the findings of the workshop and online survey. Through participatio
n in the Horizon Scan, we hope that new cross-disciplinary connections will
be made, and that different forms of knowledge (e.g. scientific and tradit
ional) will be brought together.
