SUMMARY:16th International Circumpolar Remote Sensing Symposium - Call for Oral and Poster Presentation Abstracts
LOCATION:Fairbanks\, Alaska\, USA
DESCRIPTION:Organizers invite oral and poster presentation abstracts for the 16th Inter
national Circumpolar Remote Sensing Symposium (ICRSS). This symposium will
convene 16-20 May 2022 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks,
Alaska.\nThe theme of the 16th ICRSS is Convergence at the Poles - Addressi
ng Urgent Research Questions and Management Needs through Remote Sensing in
the Arctic and Antarctic. This symposium will be of interest to scientists
, scholars, and industry and government professionals involved in studying
and quantifying Arctic and Antarctic change, renewable and non-renewable re
source management, and development of new technologies and methods targetin
g remote sensing observations of polar environments.\nThe symposium will pr
ovide a platform for the exchange of current applied research and best prac
tices, the presentation of new technology and further innovation, and the a
dvancement of international co-operation in the circumpolar regions of the
world. The ICRSS deals specifically with remote sensing applications in the
polar environments, both Arctic and Antarctic.\nAt this time, organizers a
re still anticipating that the symposium will take place in person with a v
irtual option for those not able to attend. Given this, much of the meeting
will be organized for in-person attendees. Organizers will also include so
