  Science &amp; Technology Conference&nbsp;</strong></p><p dir="ltr" style="
 text-align: justify;"><strong>In February, 2022 (exact dates TBD)</strong>,
  the Climate Change Institute at the University of Maine will host a multi-
 day virtual conference to discuss ground-penetrating radar, airborne radar,
  related technologies, and software use and needs within the Polar communit
 y.</p><p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">The focus of this conferenc
 e is to address: 1) current&nbsp; and&nbsp; future&nbsp; science&nbsp; and&
 nbsp; logistical&nbsp; drivers&nbsp; which&nbsp; may&nbsp; require&nbsp; or
 &nbsp; benefit from radar hardware and software, 2) current commercial (off
 -the-shelf), modified, and user-specific radar systems available to the sci
 ence community, 3) ongoing radar technology R&amp;D, 4) equipment&nbsp; and
 &nbsp; software&nbsp; community&nbsp; access, 5)&nbsp; radar&nbsp; educatio
 n&nbsp; and&nbsp; training&nbsp; needs&nbsp; and&nbsp; options,&nbsp; and 6
 ) facilitating radar usage in the broader science and logistics community. 
 In addition, this conference aims to address the specific need for radar wi
 thin the Polar community including, but not limited to, glaciology, permafr
 ost and periglacial environments, sea ice, geology, and geomorphology.</p><
