SUMMARY:The 10th Nordic Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry
LOCATION:Loen\, Norway
DESCRIPTION:The Analytical Section of the Norwegian Chemical Society invites scientists
and users of science to this 10th Nordic Conference on Plasma Spectrochemi
stry (http://nordicplasma.com/). We sincerely hope that you will respond po
sitively to this invitation and call for papers. Please inform your colleag
ues about this opportunity to share and discuss their recent experiences an
d to be scientifically updated through a number of \n short courses given b
y international leading specialists in typical Norwegian informal surroundi
ngs. We look forward to your attendance at and participation in this scient
ific event.\nObjectives and Main Topics\nBy contrast to other plasma spectr
ochemistry meetings, the FREE short courses (2 hours duration) will be offe
red to all participants during the four day meeting which may be very attra
ctive to participants to learn about and to be updated on plasma spectroche
mistry. We are planning to organise 16 short courses, two or three in paral
lel each day , as part of the conference. This concept is ment to stimulate
Nordic users of plasma based techniques to learn more about theoretical an
d practical issues as well as obtain specialists recommendations for method
s improvements. Thus these short courses are also a unique opportunity for
laboratory engineers to be updated.\nThe aim of the conference is to provid
e a forum to encourage the exchange of ideas and knowledge about recent dev
elopments and state-of-the-art knowledge in main areas of plasma spectroche
mistry. The conference will bring together international participants exper
ienced in fundamental aspects, instrumentation and applications in typical
Norwegian informal settings to examine recent progress in this continuing g
rowing field; approximately 120 participants are expected to attend.\nFunda
mental aspects and instrumental developments of:\nplasma fundamentals and m
echanisms\nplasma sources for atomization and excitation in atomic spectrom
etry and ionization in mass spectrometry\nplasma source atomic emission and
mass spectrometry\n laser-assisted plasma spectrometry \n plasma source de
tectors in speciation analysis \n sample preparation, sample introduction a
nd transport phenomena\nminiaturisation and nanotechnology\nhyphenated and
imaging techniques\nApplications of plasma spectrochemistry in the analysis
 of:\nnew materials - nanomaterials\nspeciation analysis\nindustrial produc
ts - analysis and characterisation \n environmental and occupational pollut
ants \n food and agriculture products\n aquatic systems \n terrestrial/geol
ogical materials \n biological/clinical materials/pharmaceutical materials
\n reference materials \n radioactive and stable element species\nmetallomi
cs and biodistribution\nforensic analysis\nfuels/ biofuels/oils\nAn one-pag
e abstract must reach the Chairman of the Organising Committee by March 31,
2022\nVenue:\nThe conference venue will be the Hotel Alexandra lo
cated in the most beautiful Fjord and Glacier Districts of Norway (https://
www.fjordnorway.com/). The hotel is recognised as one of the best conferenc
e venues in Norway. We can guarantee that participants will not quickly for
get the extraordinary beauty & hospitality of this region. The particip
ants are expected to arrive at the hotel Saturday, June 6, and to travel ho
me, either Wednesday after lunch or Thursday morning June 11.\nWe would str
ongly recommend you to arrange your travel to Loen as soon as possible to o
btain cheapest available flights. The most convenient travel is by plane fr
om Oslo Gardermoen airport to Sandane and or Ørsta/Volda Hovden airports op
erated by Widerøe (WF), local airports with hotel transfer service (60 min
drive).Vigra, Ålesund airport is operated by SAS and Norwegian (2h45 min tr
