Organizers announce a call for abstracts and meeting registration for
the 13th Annual Polar Technology Conference (PTC). This meeting will
convene 11-12 April 2017 in Littleton, Colorado.
The PTC brings tog
ether polar scientists and technology developers to
exchange informati
on on research system operational needs and technology
solutions for p
olar environments. This knowledge exchange helps
scientists and engine
ers address issues of design, implementation, and
deployment for syste
ms that enable scientists and agencies to achieve
their research goals
in the polar regions.
Presentations cover system requirements for pr
oposed research along with
descriptions of systems and approaches prov
en successful in polar
deployments. Hardware and software topics inclu
de, for example, weather
stations, robotics, power systems and storage
, telemetry, and
communications. Scale ranges from autonomous data col
lection towers to
large scale research stations. Polar field sites inc
lude those under,
on, and above the ice, tundra, or sea. A poster sess
ion is also
scheduled for this meeting.

cipation from academia, state and federal
agencies, the private sector
, and non-governmental organizations.
