DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1971, the Polar Libraries Colloquy is an invaluable showcase for
  librarians and other experts involved in collecting, preserving and dissem
 inating information, and allows to discuss mutual interest and promote init
 iatives leading to improved collections and services. Traditionally, the Co
 lloquy meets every two years, alternating between Europe and North America.

 8th Polar Libraries Colloquy. \nThe conference will focus on contribution o
 f librarians and archivists to the sharing of northern and polar cultures a
 nd knowledge. The event will be an excellent opportunity to:\n\n - Bring to
 gether specialists in northern and polar information, from more than 15 dif
 ferent countries. \n - Highlight the unique expertise of librarians and arc
 hivists in this field through stimulating presentations.\n - Showcase the w
 ork of renowned researchers in northern or arctic studies.\n - Address the
