DESCRIPTION:ESA will held the first North American CryoSat Science meeting next spring 
 in Banff (Alberta, Canada), 20-24 March 2017.\nThe submission of abstracts 
 is now open on www.cryosat2017.org (http://www.cryosat2017.org). Deadline i
 s 4th December 2016.\nThe meeting will provide a unique forum for scientist
 s to share the state-of-the-art in research and applications, review missio
 n achievements and prepare for the continued use of the CryoSat mission in 
 the future.\nThe meeting is organised approximately seven years after launc
 h of CryoSat and will highlight areas where the mission has made significan
 t contribution including cryosphere, oceanography, geodesy, hydrology, topo
 graphy, meteorology, climate change and operations.\nThe meeting will be al
 so instrumental to identify new scientific challenges in view of the extens
 ion beyond 2019 and, in general, for its possible successor.\nCo-sponsored 
 by a number of international institutions, the meeting is open to all world
 wide interested CryoSat stakeholders and data users. There will be no confe
 rence fee but the participants are required to finance their own travel and
  accommodation.\n
