 13 September 2016 at 12:00-1:00 p.m. EDT.\nThe ARCUS Arctic Research Semina
 r Series brings some of the leading Arctic researchers to Washington, D.C. 
 to share the latest findings and what they mean for decision-making. These 
 seminars will be of interest to Federal agency officials, Congressional sta
 ff, NGOs, associations, and the public.\nThis seminar will be presented by 
 Dr. Henry P. Huntington of Huntington Consulting.\nSeminar Abstract: Why do
  people move to an eroding village? Why do fishermen go farther north in th
 e Bering Sea in cold years? Why would hunters report an ecosystem in troubl
 e when subsistence harvests are up? And what does AmazonPrime have to do wi
 th food security?\nResearch on human-environment interactions in the Arctic
  has demonstrated the strong connections between people and their ecosystem
 s. But those connections do not always lead to the outcomes one might expec
 t. In addition to examining the physical and biological aspects of Arctic c
 hange, we need more attention to the social dynamics that shape human respo
 nses to climate and other types of change.\nThis presentation will review s
 ome of the basics of what we know in these areas, and then discuss how to s
 tart studying the things we cannot yet explain.\nThis event is a brown-bag 
 lunch that will be held in the ARCUS D.C. office (1201 New York Avenue, NW
