SUMMARY:ARCTIC FUTURES 2050: Science for Policy in a Changing Arctic Study for Environmental Arctic Change (SEARCH)
LOCATION:Washington\, D.C\, USA
DESCRIPTION:Responding to rapid environmental change in the Arctic requires the combine
d efforts of Arctic scientists from many disciplines, diverse Indigenous kn
owledge holders, and policy makers from all levels of government.  Arctic F
utures 2050—convened by the Study of Environmental Arctic Change (SEARCH) (
https://www.searcharcticscience.org/)—will be an international conference d
esigned to enhance collaboration between those groups. Policy makers (from
local to national and international governments) need timely access to clea
rly communicated knowledge of the Arctic environment, and researchers need
a clear understanding of the information needs of policy makers. Arctic Fut
ures 2050will explore the opportunities and challenges for deeper dialogue
between scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and those making and infl
uencing policy. Our goal is to facilitate such dialogue and avenues to sust
ained collaboration. To that end, this conference asks:\nInvitees will incl
ude Arctic scientists; Indigenous knowledge holders; policy makers; natural
resource managers; and military, industrial, and other operators in the Ar
 ctic.\n<a href="https://www.arcus.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.

open through 3 September 2019.For more information, see: \n
