SUMMARY:APECS-EPB Webinar: The EU Arctic Cluster
LOCATION:Online
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the European Polar Board (EPB) (http://www.europeanpola
rboard.org/), APECS organises a series of webinars that aim to connect pola
r research and policy. The webinars are aimed at polar researchers, policym
akers and other professionals at all career stages.\nThe fourth EPB-APECS w
ebinar will be held 13:00-14:00 (UTC) on Tuesday 5th June 2018. \nKristina
Bär, EU-PolarNet Communications Of
ficer, will introduce the EU Arctic Cluster (http://www.eu-polarnet.eu/eu-a
rctic-cluster/) and how it is bringing together EU-funded polar research pr
ojects to jointly maximise their impact.\nThe EU Arctic Cluster is a networ

APECS being involved in four of them. Currently it comprises eight projects

-ARC, INTAROS (http://www.intaros.eu/), INTERACT and NUNATARYUK (https://www.nunataryuk.org/). The Cluster
thus merges a broad spectrum of research and coordination activities - rang
ing from the most up-to-date findings on permafrost and sea ice, from enhan
cing observation to improving predictions, and from networking research sta
tions to coordinating access to icebreakers.\nThe EU Arctic Cluster's objec
tive is to bring the insights from various areas of expertise together in o
rder to provide one entry point to EU funded Arctic research. Jointly the C
luster aims to provide policy-relevant information and support the EU in im
plementing its integrated policy for the Arctic.\nTo join the webinar, plea
