DESCRIPTION:Abstract submission for the 14th Conference on Polar Meteorology and Oceano
 graphy, held as part of the 97th Annual Meeting of the American Meteorologi
 cal Society (AMS) from 22-26 January 2017 in Seattle, WA is now open.  Subm
 issions on all aspects of polar weather, climate, and oceanography are bein
 g solicited. \nThe conference will include invited and contributed oral and
  poster presentations, joint sessions between other relevant AMS conference
 s, and activities for early career polar scientists on behalf of the Associ
 ation for Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS). Participation from student
 s is especially encouraged, as we will be awarding first and second place p
 rizes for both oral and poster presentations given by students, as well as 
 four student travel awards to partially offset registration and travel expe
 nses.  The abstract deadline is August 1 2016.\nFor further information and
