DESCRIPTION:As you register to attend the POLAR 18 conference organised by SCAR in Davo
 s this June, please consider signing up to attend the SERCE ('Solid Earth R
 esponse and influence on Cryospheric Evolution') side meeting, which will t
 ake place immediately prior to the main conference.\nThe role of SERCE is t
 o facilitate research on interactions between the solid Earth and the cryos
 phere (https://www.scar.org/science/serce/serce/). Our side meeting is open
  to all and will be relevant to anyone interested in the solid Earth (if yo
 u're attending POLAR 18 then we assume you are also interested in the cryos
 phere...).\nDuring the meeting we will report on recent activities supporte
 d by SERCE (including a report from the Antarctic Heat Flux that is taking 
 place this week), outline and discuss plans for future SERCE-supported acti
 vities, update on recent research that addresses the scientific aims of SER
 CE, and invite discussion of plans for the future direction of SCAR's Scien
 tific Research Programs (of which SERCE is currently one, others listed her
