 ue, NW Washington D.C. on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET.\nT
 his seminar will also be available as a webinar live-stream for those unabl
 e to attend in person. Instructions for accessing the event online will be 
 sent to webinar registrants prior to the event.\nRegistration is required f
 or this event.\nThe ARCUS Arctic Research Seminar Series brings leading Arc
 tic researchers to Washington, D.C. to share the latest findings and what t
 hey mean for decision-making. These seminars will be of interest to federal
  agency officials, congressional staff, non-governmental organizations, ass
 ociations, and the public.\nThis seminar, titled Russia's Arctic Ambitions:
  Domestic Factors and Foreign Policy Strategies, will discuss the dominant 
 role that domestic factors play in Russia's foreign policy stances for the 
 Arctic.\nMarlene Laruelle is Research Professor of International Affairs an
 d Associate Director of the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian S
 tudies (IERES) at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Was
 hington University. Marlene explores contemporary political, social and cul
 tural changes in Russia and Central Asia through the prism of ideologies an
 d nationalism. On Russia's Arctic, Marlene has authored Russia's Strategies
  in the Arctic and the Future of the Far North (M.E. Sharpe, 2013), and edi
 ted New Mobilities and Social Changes in Russia's Arctic Regions (Routledge
 , 2016). Marlene is co-Principal Investigator on several grants from Nation
 al Science Foundation and Belmont Forum studying Arctic urban sustainabilit
 y.\nThis event is a brown-bag lunch that will be held in the ARCUS D.C. off
 ice (1201 New York Avenue, NW Washington D.C. Fourth Floor). Cookies and be
