LOCATION:Svalbard and Tromsø\, Norway
DESCRIPTION:The first field-school of the International Partnerships for Excellent Educ
ation and Research (INTPART) project titled, "Arctic Field Summer Schools:
Norway-Canada-USA collaboration" will be organized by University of Tromso
(UiT) - the Arctic University of Norway and will convene 15 May-2 June 2017
.\nThe “Arctic Field Summer School” is funded by the Research Council of No

ake place at the Centre for Integrated Remote Sensing and Forecasting for A
rctic Operations (CIRFA), located within the Faculty of Science and Technol
ogy, Department of Physics and Technology at UiT-the Arctic University of N
orway. This part of the course will cover analysis of data collected in the
field and additional archived data. The participating students will have t

laska Fairbanks (UAF) summer course and students willing to earn credits ne
ed to enroll for the class.\nTravel grants (amounts will be determined late
 r) will be issued by IARC to cover round-trip international travel costs fr
om USA to Tromsø, Norway, as well as travel between Tromsø and Svalbard. Ac
commodation and meals are provided free of cost for the participant on boar
d the ship R/V Lance. All meals and standard university accommodation will
be covered during the stay in Tromsø. CIRFA will provide office space and o
ther basic infrastructure at the centre facilities at UiT-the Arctic Univer
sity of Norway.\nImportant: This opportunity is open only for US-based grad
uate students enrolled at US universities.\nPlease send your 1-page motivat
