DESCRIPTION:The Greenland Ice Sheet Ocean Science (GRISO) network will host the first G
 RISO Summer School in Nuuk, Greenland during July 11-23, 2022. The topic is
  Impacts of glacier retreat on Greenland coastal margins.\n\n The summer sc
 hool will emphasize both Greenland science and building collaboration, comm
 unication, and complex problem solving skills. Activities will take place i
 n the Center for Education in the Natural Sciences, at the Greenland Instit
 ute of Natural Resources. Participants will learn about the state of scienc
 e and techniques in glaciology, ice-ocean interaction, fjord oceanography, 
 coastal ecosystems and community response to coastal change, and they will 
 develop skills in cross-discipline collaboration and communication facilita
 ted by experts from Knowinnovation (https://knowinnovation.com/).There will
  be opportunities to participate in boat trips and hiking. More broadly, th
 e summer school aims to build a strong and healthy early career science net
 work.\nThe target audience for the summer school is advanced PhD students a
 nd postdocs, and we are able to accommodate approximately 12 students. We e
 ncourage applications from Greenland-based students and underrepresented mi
 nority groups.\n\n Applications are now open and will close on 11 February
