SUMMARY:The Future Shape of a Greenland GNSS Observation Network
LOCATION:Greenbelt\, Maryland\, US
DESCRIPTION:Organizers of a workshop, entitled "The Future Shape of a Greenland Global
Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Observation Network" call for participan
t registration. The one- and one half-day workshop will convene 24-25 Janua
ry 2017 at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard
Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.\nThe goal of the workshop is t
o define a path forward for a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) obs
ervation network in Greenland.\nSuch a network already exists in the form o
f the Greenland network GNET, a joint U.S./Danish network of GPS receivers.
Existing funding for GNET is drawing to a close, and the future of the net
work remains uncertain. This workshop aims to bring the various stakeholder
s and potential users of these data together to define the system requireme
nts and the path forward.\nThere is no cost for attending this NSF-sponsore
d workshop, and a limited amount of travel funding is available for those i
n need.\nAccess to Goddard Space Flight Center requires documentation to be
submitted to NASA in advance.\nFor details about required documentation, g
 o to: \nhttp://neptune.gsfc.nasa.gov/csb/index.php?section=268 .\nNASA docu
mentation submission deadline: Tuesday, 3 January 2017.\nNASA documentation
submission for foreign visitors deadline:\nFriday, 23 December 2017\nWorks
hop registration is open until filled.\nFor more information and registrati
 on instructions, go to:\n<a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/~ice/GNET_worksh
