SUMMARY:Polar Marine Science Gordon Research Seminar
LOCATION:California\, USA
DESCRIPTION:Attention Polar Marine Science graduate students and postdocs,We are please
d to announce the 2017 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Polar Marine Scienc
e, which will be held in conjunction with the Gordon Research Conference (G
RC) on Polar Marine Science, in March 2017 at the Ventura Beach Marriott in
Ventura, CA:\n March 25-26, 2017: Gordon Research Seminar, Polar Marine Sc
ience\n March 26-31, 2017: Gordon Research Conference, Polar Marine Science
.\nThe GRS is organized, led and attended by graduate students and postdoct
oral scholars, and is an excellent opportunity for early career scientists
to present and discuss their work with their peers. This year’s theme is “A
dvancing the Physical-Biological Understanding of Polar Marine Ecosystems T
hrough Innovative Technology”\nThe week-long GRC is open to scientists at a
ll career levels and will include sessions on ecosystem status in the Arcti
c and Antarctic, biogeochemical interactions, paleoceanographic records, te
chnological advances in observing systems, biophysical coupled models, and
more.\nFollowing the usual Gordon Research Conference schedule, there will
be morning and evening lectures, poster sessions in the late afternoon and
evening, and afternoons reserved for informal interactions and activities,
and time to explore the beautiful California coast.\nApplications for both
