 encies to achieve\ntheir research goals in the polar regions.\nPresentation
 s cover system requirements for proposed research along with\ndescriptions 
 of systems and approaches proven successful in polar\ndeployments. Hardware
  and software topics include, for example, weather\nstations, robotics, pow
 er systems and storage, telemetry, and\ncommunications. Scale ranges from a
 utonomous data collection towers to\nlarge scale research stations. Polar f
 ield sites include those under,\non, and above the ice, tundra, or sea. A p
 oster session is also\nscheduled for this meeting.\nOrganizers welcome part
 icipation from academia, state and federal\nagencies, the private sector, a
 nd non-governmental organizations.\nRooms have been reserved for conference
