 to announce that the 77th Eastern Snow Conference (ESC) will be held as a v
 irtual meeting hosted by the University of Saskatchewan, on 9 June 2021. A 
 revised meeting format will be used in support of the ongoing public health
  and safety efforts around the world. The single-day virtual meeting will f
 ocus on student-led research.\nThe scientific program is open to sessions o
 n theoretical, experimental, remote sensing, modeling, and operational stud
 ies of snow, ice, and winter hydrology. We anticipate including sessions on
  a wide variety of snow and ice themes, includingin situ observations of sn
 ow, remote sensing of snow, and high latitude snow processes. The ESC has o
 nly plenary oral presentation sessions, allowing time to discuss the resear
 ch of each participant. You are invited to submit an abstract for an oral p
 resentation. An abstract of ~300 words should be submitted by 30 April 2021

 ged to identify their submissions as “student research” in order to enter t
 he ESC Student Paper Competitions. The winner of the best submitted student
  presentation will receive the Wiesnet Medal and a $750 prize. The Campbell
  Scientific Canada Award (open only to Canadian students) of $500 will be a
 warded to the submitted paper demonstrating the most innovative use of tech
 nology in the gathering of data.\nTo be considered for the Wiesnet and Camp
 bell awards, please send a copy of the abstract with the supervisor's endor
 sement (separate email) to the Chair of the Research Committee (B. Forman),
