PhD project: Metabolic pathways in glacial habitats (f_m_x)

The advertised PhD project is part of the EU funded Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Doctoral Network ICEBIO. The ICEBIO consortium comprises 6 leading research teams and two industrial stakeholders across Europe (Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Austria and Switzerland) and its mission is to train 11 predoctoral researchers in glacier microbiology and biogeochemistry. 

The main aim of this PhD project will be to develop a workflow for the analyses of targeted and untargeted metabolites produced, consumed, retained or exported from/on seasonally changing snow and ice fields. The selected candidate will become part of a multidisciplinary team in the Interface Geochemistry section at the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam and be registered as a PhD student at the Free University of Berlin.
