The Future of Arctic Sea Ice Research and Forecasting workshop
The Polar Research Board in the Divsion of Earth Life and Studies at the National Academies have created an ad hoc committee that will plan and conduct a public workshop that outlines the current state of Arctic sea ice research, discusses knowledge gaps, and identifies emerging or important new science questions for the coming decade.

A new hardcover photography book about polar science titled "Science on Ice" has been published
An oceanographer and award-winning photographer, Linder chronicles four polar expeditions in this richly illustrated volume: to a teeming colony of Adélie penguins, through the icy waters of the Bering Sea in spring, beneath the pack ice of the eastern Arctic Ocean, and over the lake-studded surface of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
