Are you a young professional, university student, or early-career scientist passionate about climate change and the cryosphere? This is a unique opportunity to get involved in an international event and make a tangible impact by contributing to the success of the Cryosphere Pavilion at UNOC3.

We welcome applications from individuals eager to collaborate, learn, and connect with experts and decision-makers in the field of climate science and cryosphere preservation.

Preparation Phase Volunteers

Timeline: From end of March until May 27th, 2025
Number of Volunteers Needed: 2

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the cryosphere community to raise awareness about the upcoming Cryosphere Pavilion.
  • Assist in managing the call for side events and curating the programme for the three weeks of the pavilion.
  • Collaborate remotely, with availability in the CET time zone strongly preferred.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Strong knowledge of the cryosphere community in France and globally.

No expenses covered.

On-Site Volunteers for the Cryosphere Pavilion

Dates:

  • Week 1: May 27th – June 1st
  • Week 2: June 2nd – June 8th
  • Week 3: June 9th – June 14th

Number of Volunteers Needed: 4 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of events at the pavilion.
  • Welcome and engage with a diverse audience, including the general public, heads of state, ministers, and other visitors, providing them with information about the cryosphere.
  • Assist with logistics and event coordination.
  • Access to badges for the Blue Zone will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Solid understanding of climate change and the cryosphere.
  • Local residents of Nice are strongly encouraged to apply due to very limited coverage for travel and accommodation.

Expenses Covered

For volunteers on-site at the Cryosphere Pavilion:

  • Local transport within Nice (tram, metro).
  • Lunches during volunteering days.
    Note: Remote travel and accommodation will not be provided.
