Alaska Young Researchers Network APECS Executive Committee 2007-2008 Daniel Pringle (U. Alaska, Fairbanks) is a postdoctoral fellow studying sea ice. Originally from New Zealand, he has lived and worked in Alaska and also worked on sea ice and the Dry Valleys of Antarctica. His training was in Physics and his current work combines laboratory experiments, fieldwork and computational methods to examine the microstructure of sea ice and how it controls the physical properties of sea ice. He is drawn to the people, environment and animals of wild, big and humbling Alaska. Daniel was a member of the Interim APECS Executive Committee formed in Sweden, 2007. He helped to establish the University of Alaska Young Researchers' Network and coordinated their outreach and community engagement activities during IPY. |
