Dear IPY-OSC Stipend recipients,
We hope you enjoyed your time in Oslo and felt all the amazing support for young researchers at the conference.
As APECS plans to continue to advocate for career enhancing opportunities for all of you, we would like to get some feedback about your experiences from the IPY Oslo Science Conference and the Oslo Stipend Programme. We will use this information in the future to solicit funds and encourage the inclusion of Early Career Researchers in key positions at important events such as the IPY-OSC. If you found that attending the APECS events enhanced your ability to meet new people, or that the Stipend allowed you participate in the conference in a way you otherwise would not have been able to, please say so in the comments section of this survey.
If you have any photos from various activities during the week, please send them to us at

, we will be sure you are given photo credit. We are also looking for anyone who may have recorded the skit during the APECS reception. The video recording we had set up failed and we would really like to preserve that wonderful piece of polar history ☺
A few of you have also asked for certificates confirming your stipend award, if you need one of these for your files, please let us know by 10 July 2010.
Thank you very much for your time and we look forward to shaping the future of polar research together! Alex Taylor, Jenny Baeseman and Hugues Lantuit

Awards for Outstanding Presentations and Posters
You can select when you register on the website whether you are early career or not. If you check YES, this automatically indicates you as eligible for the awards as well as indicating to the conveners that you are early career. You can self-decide if you are early career for this box, so even if you are a bit outside the eligibility requirements for the stipend and travel fellowships, you can still indicate you are early career if you feel it is appropriate. Conveners have been asked to make sure there is a balance between senior and early career presenters in their sessions. Checking this box can only help you. More details on what these awards will be will be added here in time... |
