Position Description

The Department of Geography and Geosciences at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, invites applications for two postdoc/senior scientist positions.

Position 1 (2 years) is in the framework of a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and aims at the derivation of elevation changes across mountain regions from the bi-static SAR mission TanDEM-X and other DEMs.

Position 2 (3 years) targets the derivation of supra-glacial melt water patterns from earth observation data in north-eastern Greenland and is embedded in the framework of a larger interdisciplinary consortium. Latter position is subject to the final funding confirmation by the German Ministry of Research (BMBF).

A PhD in remote sensing / geoinformatics, geophysics, physical geography or related disciplines is required as well as knowledge of SAR remote sensing and scientific programming.
